This Month will kick off our Fall Food Drive to help those in the community. Please help by making a donation. All proceeds will help the Emmanuel Care Center supply food to our community. We will be collecting nonperishable food items during the months of September and October. There will be a location up front by the offices of the center to bring your food items.  We appreciate your support and donations; you are helping the need in this area.

HOSPICE VOLUNTEER SEMINAR: Wednesday, September 4th at 9:30 a.m. Tizzy from Hospice of the Valley will be here to talk to us about grief 101 and volunteer opportunities.

FEEDING THE COMMUNITY POTLUCK BREAKFAST: Monday, September 9th at 9:00 a.m.  Bring your favorite dish to share and enjoy breakfast with friends AND if you also bring an item to donate to our food drive, you will be entered in a drawing to win the door prize! FINANCIAL SEMINAR WITH MORGAN STANLEY: Tuesday, September 10th at 9:30 a.m. Phil from Morgan Stanley will be discussing being smart with your money and investments.

ANNUAL BLOCKWATCH MONTHLY MEETING/PICNIC: Block watch will have their monthly meeting on Wednesday, September 11th at 5:00 p.m. at the center. September 11th Meeting will also be a public hearing as well following regular monthly meeting. The block watch picnic is on Sunday, September 15th at 1:00 p.m.  Call the Center for location.

MONTHLY BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION! Tuesday, September 17th at 9:15 a.m. in the coffee bar!

FARMERS MARKET BINGO WITH WINDSOR HOUSE: Tuesday, September 17th at 9:30 a.m. in the Coffee Bar. Join us and Deanna from Windsor House for some bingo fun and win some fresh fruit and veggies!

COPING WITH GRIEF AND THE HOLIDAYS: Tuesday, September 24th at 9:30 a.m. Kim Calhoun, LSW Bereavement Facilitator from Hospice of the Valley will be joining us to talk about dealing with grief as the holidays are approaching.

FALL HARVEST CROCKPOT POTLUCK LUNCHEON: Wednesday, September 25th at Noon. Join us in welcoming the season! Nothing says Fall like a good crockpot dish! Bring your crockpot favorite to the luncheon and get your name entered in a drawing to win the door prize! Please sign up if you are planning to attend or call 330-545-6596.

STRETCHING IN THE COFFEE BAR:  Stretching class will be held in the Coffee Bar at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, September 27th in order to bring awareness to the seriousness a fall can have on our day to day activities. Join us as we stretch together to bring awareness during fall prevention week.

MOVIES IN THE PARLOR: Every Thursday at 9:30 a.m. Relax with a movie and enjoy having some popcorn together with the staff. See Jen with any movie suggestions.

COFFEE BAR: Monday – Friday 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

FITNESS ROOM HOURS: Monday & Friday- 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday- 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

MIND GAMES: Daily at 9:00 a.m. join in the fun and exercise your brain at the same time.

Tai Chi: Cost $5.00: Fridays fromNoon to 1:00 p.m.

STRETCH EXERCISES: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 9:30 a.m.A light snack is provided. Stretching class will be at 10 a.m. on September 4th and September 9th.  Stretching will be held in the coffee bar at 9:30 a.m. on September 27th for Fall Prevention Week.

The Wii GAMING SYSTEM and AIR HOCKEY OR PING PONG are set up in the parlor for members to use. The gaming hours are during the Center’s hours of operation. Please ask the staff for assistance.

KNIT and CROCHET CLASS: Mondays at 10:15 a.m. Bring your own yarn, needles, etc. Class is free and open to our members.

COMPUTER CAFE: Mondays and Fridays: 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. & Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

NUTRITION MEAL PROGRAM/Trumbull County Office of Elderly Affairs: Monday– Friday at 2:30 p.m.  You must call reservation in at least 2 days in advance at (330) 675-2486. While there is no fee for meals, client donations are accepted toward the cost of meals.  The contributions are an important part of the funding for the program. Menu calendars are available at the Multi-Generational Center.
