 YOUNGSTOWN STATE UNIVERSITY MEMORY TESTING: Wednesday, November 1st from 10-Noon.  Are you interested in having a memory screening? YSU’s Gerontology program will be hosting a FREE 10 minute memory screening as part of the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America’s National Memory Screening Program.

 

 MONTHLY BLOCK WATCH MEETING: is on Wednesday, November 8th at 5:00 p.m. Bring a friend or neighbor.

 

 VETERANS DAY BREAKFAST: Friday, November 10th at 9:00 a.m.  Come join us as we remember and honor all of our Veterans. Breakfast will be provided by the center and our generous sponsors.

MEDICARE OPEN ENROLLMENT ENDS DECEMBER 7TH: OSHIIP Volunteers will be here on November 14th by appointment only. Please sign up at the front desk. You can also contact our social worker, Christine, at 330-545-6596 to make an appointment.

 MONTHLY BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION! Tuesday, November 14th at 9:15 a.m. in the coffee bar! Each month we will be celebrating everyone’s birthday in that particular month. The Center will provide a special treat. Feel free to sing Happy Birthday and celebrate with us!

 MIRACLE ON EASY STREET PLAY AND LUNCH TRIP: Thursday, December 14th at 9:00 a.m.  We will leave from the center and go to Powers Auditorium/DeYor Performing Arts Center for Youngstown’s original Christmas Spectacular, Miracle on Easy Street. Tickets are $12.00. Following the show we will go to V2 for lunch. You are responsible for the cost of your meal. See Jen if you would like to attend. SIGN-UPS ARE REQUIRED BY TUESDAY, NOVMEMBER 14TH.

  THANKSGIVING POTLUCK LUNCHEON: Wednesday, November 15th from 12:00-2:00 p.m. in the Gym. Bring your favorite dish to share and the Center will provide the turkey! Please sign up at the front desk if you plan on attending and what you are going to bring to share. The center would also like to send a big THANK YOU to Leora Greathouse for volunteering to cook the turkey, we greatly appreciate her kindness!

 

 COOKIE DECORATING WITH WINDSOR HOUSE: Tuesday, November 21st at 9:15 a.m. in the coffee bar, Deanna from Windsor House will be here to decorate cookies with us. Come and join in on the fun!

 

 PHYSICAL THERAPY SEMINAR: Monday, November 27th at 9:30 a.m. Cara Carramusa MS, PT. From Youngstown State University will be here to talk about physical therapy and the importance of staying active during these winter months.

 

 STRETCH PLUS PROGRAM:  The Center will be offering its Fitness Stretch Plus classes five days a week. The stretching exercises are designed specifically to increase strength, flexibility, endurance and balance. Classes will be held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday and Thursday classes will be held at 1:15 p.m. Healthy snacks will be provided following each class. This program is sponsored in part by The Trumbull Memorial Health Foundation, a supporting organization of the Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley.

 MOVIES IN THE PARLOR: Every Thursday at 9:30 a.m. in the parlor. Come enjoy and relax with a movie and have some popcorn together with the staff. See Jen with any movie suggestions. Movies are subject to change upon availability.

Tai Chi: Cost $5.00: Fridays from Noon to 1:00 p.m. NO TAI CHI ON NOVEMBER 24th.

 

YOGA, CHAIR YOGA, PILATES CLASSES

STRETCH EXERCISES: Held in the parlor on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday and Thursdays at 1:15 p.m. Stretching will be at 10:00 a.m. on November 10th and November 27th.

 

The Wii GAMING SYSTEM and AIR HOCKEY OR PING PONG are set up in the parlor for members to use. The gaming hours are during the Center’s hours of operation. Please ask the staff for assistance.

 

KNIT and CROCHET CLASS: Mondays from 10:15 a.m. to 12 p.m. Bring your own yarn, needles, etc. Class is free and open to our members.

 

COMPUTER CAFE: Mondays and Fridays:  8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. & Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays:  8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

 

ONE ON ONE COMPUTER TUTORING: Please contact Jen or Christine to make an appointment.

 

MEDICARE: Contact our social worker, Christine at 330-545-6596 to make an appointment.

 HEAP PROGRAM: See Jen or Christine for information regarding qualifications for the HEAP Program/Winter Crisis.

 

OHIO BENEFIT BANK ASSISTANCE: Call the Center to set up an appointment with Jen for assistance.

 

NUTRITION MEAL PROGRAM/Trumbull County Office of Elderly Affairs: Monday– Friday at 2:30 p.m.  You must call reservation in at least 2 days in advance at (330) 675-2486. Program is for Seniors 60+ and/or their spouses. Menu calendars are available at the Multi-Generational Center. No meals on November 7th, November 23RD or November 24th.
